The guts of it: Halogen, coating, and fit
The halogen element is the kind of steady performer you can rely on. It holds its output over time and doesn’t throw in the towel when the heat cycles on and off. The quartz envelope heats up fast, and the coating helps direct both the light and the heat where you need it. And the R7s end-caps? They’re a direct, drop-in fit for standard holders. So you can wire it up and swap it out on the line without having to redesign the fixture.
Real-world use: PET blowing and heat on demand
In PET blowing, you need heat that responds instantly. You have to soften those preforms quickly without cooking the polymer. This setup gives you that fast response and repeatable temperature control. But there’s a trade-off. That 2500W density means you need solid airflow and proper thermal management around the heater. It keeps nearby components from getting too hot.
