The SIPA XTRA 24 heater lamp is a short-wave infrared (IR) emitter built around a high-purity quartz tube and a halogen filament. It throws fast-response radiation right at the preform surface, so you get quick heat-up without over-soaking the neck and threads. The specs are matched to the XTRA 24 heating tunnel geometry: rated power and voltage aligned to the machine’s heater bus, standard R7s connectors for plug-and-play termination, and envelope dimensions that drop into the reflector spacing as intended. The output spectrum is tuned for PET absorption, which helps keep temperature control tight through the heating cycle.
Why this matters on a stretch blow molder
On a stretch blow molding line, repeatability is what keeps scrap down and cycle times up. This lamp brings the heating profile back to what the XTRA 24 was designed around, so you get faster stabilization after changeovers and less cavity-to-cavity variation. The shop-floor notes
Installation is straightforward, but the lamp has to sit right in the reflector and stay aligned to the preform path—misalignment shows up as uneven heating, plain and simple. Handle it with clean gloves or sleeves; oils on the quartz will turn into hot spots once it’s hot. The lamp runs at peak surface temperatures, so let the heater tunnel cool before you service it. Match voltage and connector type to the machine harness, and double-check compatibility with your specific XTRA 24 heater bank configuration.
