
Speeding Up Your Bakery Line with IR Heating
When you’re trying to push more product through a portable oven, you usually hit a wall. That wall is heat transfer. Standard convection is slow; it takes forever for the heat to actually get into the dough. That’s why we use short-wave infrared (IR) lamps. Instead of waiting around, these lamps hit the surface of the product instantly. It cuts down the time the dough has to sit in the oven, which means you can crank up the belt speed and get more out the door. Getting the heat right If you want to move faster, you need more power in a small space. We design these IR lamps for high-voltage setups so the heat stays steady across the whole tube. Nobody wants “cold spots” on their conveyor—that’s how you end up with uneven bakes. Plus, because we’ve bumped up the watt-density, the oven hits its target temperature way faster after a cold start. You aren’t standing around waiting for the machine to warm up. You just get to work. No-fuss installation We use high-purity quartz for these tubes because they have to survive the shock of heating up and cooling down rapidly. And here is the best part: we use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. They are basically plug-and-play. You don’t have to call in an electrician to rewire your oven or mess around with the housing. If a lamp pops in the middle of a shift, you can swap it out in a few minutes and keep moving. A quick word of caution Short-wave IR is powerful. It’s exactly what you need to increase your units per minute, but it does put out a lot of ambient heat. If you decide to upgrade to a higher wattage lamp to boost your numbers, just double-check your fans. Your ventilation needs to be able to handle the extra load. If the housing gets too hot, you’re looking at fried wiring and burnt-out connectors. Keep the air moving, and your lamps will last a lot longer.
