Let’s be honest: trying to find replacement IR lamps for a PET blow molding machine is usually a headache. Most of the time, you buy a lamp that looks right, but the voltage is off or it doesn’t quite fit the footprint. It’s frustrating, and it wastes time. That’s why we built our replacement lamps specifically for the Sidel Combi SF300 and similar setups. We didn’t want to make a “generic” part; we wanted something that actually respects how your oven works.
The Heat Factor
Here’s the thing about PET preforms: they’re picky. If you don’t hit that sweet spot of heat density, you end up with crystallization or, worse, burnt plastic. We use high-wattage halogen tech so the lamps hit their operating temperature the second you flip the switch. By nailing the exact voltage and wattage the SF300 expects, we stop the “burn-out cycle.” You won’t have to deal with lamps popping early because of over-voltage, and you won’t see a dip in performance.
Built to Last (and Fit)
We went with heavy-wall quartz glass. Why? Because these things go through a lot of thermal shock—heating up and cooling down rapidly—and cheap glass just can’t handle that. Plus, we added a special coating to the tubes. Instead of just scorching the surface of the PET, the heat actually penetrates the wall of the plastic. As for the installation, it’s simple. Whether your machine uses R7s or SK15 connectors, these are drop-in replacements. No rewiring. No modifying sockets. You just pop them in and get back to work.
Real-World Talk
Because we stuck to industry-standard dimensions, these fit over 95% of the blow molding gear out there. If you’ve got a scheduled teardown coming up, that’s the perfect time to swap them out and keep your downtime to a minimum. But a quick word of advice: if you’re pushing these lamps to their max wattage, your oven’s ventilation has to keep up. If your cooling fans are clogged with dust or starting to fail, the ambient temperature inside the oven will spike. That’s a killer for the lamp electrodes. Keep your airflow clean, and your quartz lamps will last much longer.
