Instead of warming up the air and hoping it reaches your product, IR beams energy straight to the target. It’s direct. It’s fast. And it actually works. Getting the balance right Here’s the trick: you can’t just throw any bulb in there. If you cram too much power into a short tube, you’ll scorch your product. Too little? And you’re right back to that cold center. We spend a lot of time obsessing over the wattage-to-length ratio. We calibrate everything—voltage, wattage, the whole deal—to fit the specific volume of your oven. The goal is a steady, even heat that penetrates the product regardless of how thick the steam is. The gear We use quartz envelopes with tungsten filaments. Why quartz? Because steam environments are brutal. Quartz can handle those wild temperature swings without cracking under pressure. We also keep things simple with standard connectors. You can just drop them in. No need to rip out your control panel or spend a weekend rewiring everything. Depending on what you’re heating, we’ll suggest either shortwave or medium-wave emitters. Shortwave hits hard and fast. Medium-wave is your go-to when you need the heat to soak deep into thicker materials. A couple of things to keep in mind Now, there is a trade-off. High-density IR puts a real strain on your power supply. You’ve got to make sure your wiring is beefy enough to handle the load, otherwise, you’ll deal with voltage drops that kill your efficiency. Also, remember that IR is “line-of-sight.” It’s like a flashlight. If a misplaced tray gets in the way, it creates a thermal shadow. If your loading pattern is a mess, you’ll get those same inconsistencies you had before. Keep the path clear, and the heat does the rest.
